The X-Files Classified Tapes

3rd Set

"All escapees from the netherworld are in their jurisdiction,
be they vampires, poltergeists, astral projections, firestarters,
telekinetics, satanic cultists, psychic surgeons,
alien abductees, possessed animals, replicants,
reincarnated spirits, shape shifters, or local chapters
of the international brotherhood of zombies."

-- James Wolcott, The New Yorker

To enter the world of the X-Files, is to suspend disbelief. To open the mind to "extreme possibilities." And to resist the basic human urge for pat answers and tidy endings. Not a "monster of the week" show nor a morality tale (unlike its two closest ancestors-The Night Stalker and The Twilight Zone-The X-Files transcends easy classification and shatters existing genres by co-mingling the creepy, the scary, and the merely insidious. On The X-Files, as in life, there is no neat conclusion every 60 minutes, but rather lingering doubt, low-level anxiety, and rare moments of joy and epiphany.

Now, six more episodes are available on video, two episodes per tape, for a total of eighteen provocative stories to watch, ponder, and savor. Uncut and commercial free, they are required viewing and re-viewing for any self-described X-Phile. For herein we see The X-File project shut down and reopened; relive Mulder's loss of Samantha; meet raving abductee Duane Barry, the elusive Mr. X, and the creepy Alex Krycek, and sit tensely by as Scully clings for life after her abduction by aliens...or the U.S. Government. You decide.

Little Green Men
The X-Files shut down, his faith shattered, Mulder flees a rote
eavesdropping assignment to seek proof of alien contact in
Puerto Rico, where he has a close encounter.

The Host
As a peripatetic parasite wreaks havoc upon sanitation workers
in New Jersey, Mulder gains the first hints that the X-Files
may be restored.

Sleepless
Using bizarre psychic abilities, a former marine suffering from
permanent insomnia attempts to atone for wartime atrocities
committed as a result of military experiments conducted
twenty-four years before.

Duane Barry
When a former FBI agent who claims to have been the victim
of alien experimentation escapes from a mental hospital, the
truth is turned on its side and Scully ends up missing.

Ascension
As Duane Barry races to the top of a mountain to sacrifice
Scully to extraterrestrials, Mulder pursues him via speeding
tram, and Agent Krycek's true colors are revealed.

One Breath
Scully lies in a coma while Mulder wrestles with his own
demons and desire to avenge her probable murder. Both
hover near total darkness, battling forces beyond their
control, but saved ultimately by their mutual trust and belief.

Twelve more of the finest episodes from the beginning and end of the first season are available on 6 video
cassettes, two stories per cassette.
