
On April 5, 1965 The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded My Fair Lady the prestigious and much sought after Best Picture Oscar®. The Academy Award® ceremony was held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and hosted by none other than Bob Hope. My Fair Lady took home 8 awards that night.
My Fair Lady premiered in 1964 at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. It was a glamorous affair with many stars in attendance including Angie Dickinson, Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra and Natalie Wood, among others.
