Everyone, especially children, knows that the holiday season is a time for miracles. However, 6-year-old Susan Walker has doubts about childhood's most enduring miracle... Santa Claus. Susan's mom told her the "secret" about Santa a long time ago, and it seems that Susan's holiday wishes won't even come close to being granted.

This holiday season, Susan is going to receive the most precious gift of all: something to believe in. And she's about to discover that miracles do exist...

Seven-year-old Mara Wilson (Susan) was drawn to acting at the age of five when she decided to emulate her oldest brother Danny, who had previously appeared in several commercials, television series and films. She was soon cast in commercials for Oscar Meyer, Texaco, Bank of America and Marshalls.

Last year, Mara made her motion picture debut in the role of Robin Williams' youngest daughter in Twentieth Century Fox' blockbuster "Mrs. Doubtfire." She has since appeared in the television film "A Time to Heal" and was a recurring character on the popular series "Melrose Place."

Mara won the role of Susan, the realistic little girl who doesn't believe in Santa Claus in "Miracle on 34th Street," after John Hughes conducted a nationwide talent search for the ideal star for this new production.
