Eggs are created inside the alien Queen and exit through a tube from her extended abdomen to stand upright on their own. The egg is approximately 2.5 feet tall with a leathery, translucent surface and is extremely flammable. It is able to detect the proximity of a potential host through sound and/or movement. The dormant egg then comes to life, with its top opening like the petals of a flower and releasing the Facehugger.
