Big Words From the Big Mouths of Big Apes

Maybe Jason Alexander used some words you didn't understand. Here's a list of cool new words and phrases that you can use to impress your friends!

5-star hotel

In Dunston Checks In, the Majestic is a 5-star hotel. That means that it's rated one of the finest hotels in the world. Of course, when Dunston checks in, things start to fall apart!

Moi

Moi is French for "me"! It's pronounced "mwah".

Bonding

Bonding is what people who like each other do when they spend time with each other. Like you and your brother and sister? Or maybe you and your dog!

Hilarity

Hilarity is when something is very, very funny...like Dunston! He's hilarious.

Orangutan

Want to find out whether or not an orangutan is a monkey, where orangutans live, and what they eat? Go to our page, Don't Call Me Monkey, for details!

Denigrate

To denigrate someone is to cut them down, insult them, or as a rapper might say, "to dis somebody"!

Carousing

Playing around, going out and getting wild!

Consummate

Complete. Dunston has become the image of a professional actor.

Premature

Early.

Candidacy

When someone runs for an office. Senator Bob Dole and President Clinton are both candidates for the presidency.

President Reagan

Ronald Reagan, who was President of the United States from 1980 to 1988, started his career as an actor. One of his best-known films is a monkey picture, Bedtime for Bonzo. Can you find out what kind of primate starred in that movie? Try searching for "bonzo" on the web!

Coterie

This is another French word (boy, he sure does like speaking in other languages!) that's pronounced "ko-tuh-REE". It means a select group of people (Dunston is very particular about who he hangs out with).

Phenomenal

A big event, something really important.

Ride on his coattails

This is when you hang on to someone so you can benefit from his success....even if he doesn't wear a coat!
